Before entering politics, Rebecca, scientist by training, was an accomplished BBC, ITV and Channel 4 reporter who specialised in the environment, farming, and gardening. She has also worked for the National Farmers’ Union, standing up for the agricultural community in dealings with Brussels. Outside of her work in Government Rebecca is also an active gardener and campaigner for sustainability and the natural world.
Why is DEFRA so important?
DEFRA develops and implements policy on the environment, food, and rural issues. It has responsibility for protecting biodiversity, the countryside, and the marine environment, and for supporting the growth of a sustainable green economy, including rural communities, and British farming and food production.
This interactive session with Rebecca will be a chance to discuss the real-life impacts of climate change & sustainability via pre submitted questions.
This will be a popular event and space is limited so sign-up early, so you do not miss out!
If you would like to ask a question, you can submit it when you register.
This event is for Young Conservative Party Members only.
