Nicky was born in Kingston upon Thames, south-west London she grew up in Surbiton and was privately educated at Surbiton High School. Nicky first joined the Conservative Party as a teenager in 1989. Before going onto to become a qualified as a solicitor in 1994 and worked as a corporate lawyer at Travers Smith specialising in mergers and acquisitions before taking on an in-house counsel role advising on corporate law matters. Nicky herself is a former YC Chair of Wessex Young Conservatives from 1995 to 1997 so will be able to reflect on similar experiences to members.
Baroness Morgan of Cotes is a former Conservative Minister having served in the Cabinets of David Cameron and Boris Johnson as, Minister for Women & Equalities, Education Secretary and Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport Secretary.
She also chaired the House of Commons Treasury Select Committee for 2 years. She was the Member of Parliament for Loughborough between 2010 and 2019. Before coming a member of the House of Lords last year following more than nine years in front line politics.
Nicky lives in rural Leicestershire now. She holds the role of Non-Executive Director of One Nation Conservatives. It advocates for established institutions and traditional principles within political, believing in a combination of social and economic programmes designed to benefit the ordinary person.
Outside her work life Nicky is a Wife, Mum, runner & juggler of many things which will make an interesting session with a distinguished former cabinet minister.
